Dress Code
Special Dress Down Days
Highlands Elementary sponsors a “Dress Down” Fundraisers several times throughout the school year. During these days, students may participate and dress out of uniform. Dress down attire must follow the Collier Schools Dress Code Policy.
HLE Dress Code
All Collier Schools students must abide by the dress code policy outlined in the Student Code of Conduct. Highlands Elementary follows the following Uniform Dress Code Policy.
TOPS
- Tops must be any solid color polo style shirt with collar with short or long sleeves
- Logos must be no larger than 1 inch
- Solid color polo style dresses or jumpers are also allowed
- School spirit shirts may be worn any day
BOTTOMS
- Bottoms must be either slacks, capri pants, or walking shorts, skorts, skirts or uniform jumper/dress.
- Khaki, black or navy blue only
- Shorts must be fingertip or mid-thigh length or longer.
- Leggings as pants are not allowed
- Shorts, leggings, or tights should be worn under dresses and skirts
- Jeans are only allowed if the temperature is 50°F or lower at the start of the school day or as part of special dress down days
SHOES
- Sneakers or athletic shoes preferred (recess every day)
- Crocs are not permitted
JACKETS & SWEATSHIRTS
- Students must remove jackets and sweatshirts while outside on warm weather days or at PE.
- Hoods may not be worn over the head.
HAIR
- Hair must be clean and well groomed
